Addressing a press conference in Karachi, the Sindh Chief Minister said that the average rainfall in Karachi was 150 mm and 604 mm in Karachi in the month of August.
The Sindh Chief Minister said that Karachi received heavy rainfall in 1931 and 1977. Yesterday, 230 mm of rain fell at Faisal Base. Due to heavy rains, water accumulated in different parts of Karachi.

Murad Ali Shah said that 345 mm of rain fell in Badin, 311 mm in Chhor and 247 mm in Benazirabad in August. Rains have also damaged rural Sindh. Raw houses have collapsed and standing crops have been severely damaged and I have directed all the commissioners to review the situation and submit a report.
The Chief Minister Sindh said that 47 people have died in Karachi from July 6 to tomorrow, 17 deaths have occurred in Karachi during rains yesterday while 80 people have died in Sindh during monsoon spell, including in Hyderabad division. There were ten deaths and eleven deaths in Mirpur Khas division.
"There have been deaths due to wall collapse, lightning strikes and electric shocks," he said. "I offer my condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the rains. I extend my heartfelt condolences to those who have been affected."
He said that 80 people lost their lives due to monsoon rains across Sindh. He asked the Chief Secretary Sindh to estimate the damage caused by the rains. He also asked the federal government for help. Will support us
The Sindh Chief Minister said that no one has done as much as we have done for Karachi in the last 12 years. He directed all the Divisional Commissioners to assess the losses.
Murad Ali Shah said that it was repeatedly said that the government was not seen, our ministers and people of the administration went out to inspect, there are still problems in some places, there is two and a half feet of water on II Chandragar Road, I I myself have slept four or five hours in two nights.
He said that it is known that many administrative officers did not sleep all night, we estimate that people have suffered a lot, there is too much water on Tower and MA Jinnah Road, areas where there is water are trying to Get it out as soon as possible.
Murad Ali Shah said that we will work together with the federal government to repair the damage, encroachments on drains are not allowed at all, people will be relocated, the city has been hollowed out from within.
The Sindh Chief Minister said that the roads of Nazimabad and North Nazimabad were wide. He said that he would conduct a study of the city. Will make appointments on merit.
He said that it was wrong for the Governor of Sindh to make a statement regarding the appointment of an administrator , he had no authority.
The Sindh Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister has said that he is ready to help, the federal government should help as Asif Zardari did, lest the federal government start asking for powers instead of helping.
He said that PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto used to call every hour to find out the situation. Bilawal Bhutto was worried about how to repair the immediate damage. The Sindh government has ordered a survey of rain damage across the province. There is also a lot of damage in the covered areas.
Murad Ali Shah said that he has asked to assess the business losses in urban areas and houses in urban areas have been flooded, a report has also been sought. In rural areas, the crops of small landowners have also been damaged and unfinished houses have collapsed. All the damages will be surveyed and a report will be prepared and the damages during the rains will be surveyed and placed before the federal government.
