Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa had a telephonic conversation with US Secretary of Defense General Rt Llyod Austin to talk subjects of mutual interests, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported.
According to the ISPR the COAS and US Secretary of Defense had a telephonic conversation on Friday. They discussed matters of mutual interest, geographic stability, and defense affairs.
The statement issued by the ISPR read that the US Secretary of Defense expressed deep grievance over the life and property damage caused by the on going floods in the country. Rt General Lloyd Austin appreciated the Pakistan Army’s efforts in flood relief operations in the country.
Earlier today, the Administrator of USAID – USA Samantha Power called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ).

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest and collaboration in humanitarian measures were discussed.
US AID Administrator Samantha Power expressed grief over the devastation caused by ongoing floods in Pakistan and offered sincere condolence to the families of victims.
She offered full support to the people of Pakistan. She also appreciated Pakistan Army’s efforts for assisting civil administration and flood-affected populations in rescue and relief efforts in areas hit by recent floods.
