LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought a reply from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) leader Moonis Elahi’s plea for the dismissal of money laundering case, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
The LHC Justice Asjad Javed Ghural heard the petition filed by PML-Q’s Moonis Elahi for the dismissal of money laundering case against him.
The high court issued a notice to the FIA and sought a reply and adjourned the hearing. The PML-Q leader filed his petition through his counsel Amjad Pervaiz to the LHC in which FIA and others were made parties.

The petition stated that the FIA registered the money laundering case on the basis of malice and the politician was not involved in any genre of money laundering. The petitioner sought dismissal of the case.
In June, PML-Q leader Moonis Elahi had submitted reply to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in connection with an alleged Rs720 million money laundering case filed against him.
The investigation agency had asked the PML-Q leader to provide answers to 35 questions by June 23.
