Karachi: Army Flood Emergency Control Center set up to deal with flood situation

An Army Flood Emergency Control Center has been set up in Karachi to deal with the flood situation.

A statement issued by the Pakistan Army's Public Service Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that heavy rains were continuing in different parts of Karachi and Sindh.

According to ISPR, heavy rains have inundated many areas of the city.

According to the spokesman of the Pakistan Army, people have been stranded in many areas due to rain water.

The ISPR said that an Army Flood Emergency Control Center has been set up in Karachi to deal with the flood situation.

ISPR said that medical camps have also been set up in Gulberg, Liaqatabad and New Karachi areas of Karachi.

Regarding the ongoing relief work in Karachi, ISPR said that drainage process has been completed at 36 places in Karachi.

 The rain system is located at sea south of Karachi, Meteorological Department said

 The ISPR said that the dam at M-9 near the Northern Bypass had been secured while the troops had also filled the gap in the Malir River near Quaidabad.

According to Pakistan Army Public Relations Department, Pakistan Navy divers have recovered two bodies from Shah Faisal Town and Korangi.

According to ISPR, Army Engineers and Navy teams are evacuating the victims.
