Foreign Office summons senior Indian High Commission official

 A senior official of the Indian High Commission was summoned to the Foreign Office to protest against the firing and shelling by the Indian Army on the LOC.


A Foreign Office spokesman said an Indian High Commission official had strongly protested the Indian Army's firing and shelling on the LOC.


The Foreign Office said that the Indian Army opened unprovoked firing and shelling on the Nikail sector on May 19.

A Foreign Office spokesman said that three residents of Khani and Oli villages of LOC were injured in the firing by the Indian Army.


The Foreign Office said that the Indian Army was continuously targeting the civilian population with heavy weapons on the LOC.


A Foreign Office spokesman said India's violation of the ceasefire was a threat to regional peace and security.


The Foreign Office says India should respect the 2003 ceasefire agreement.
