Due to rains, about 150 feeders of Hesco region were tripped and power supply was suspended in several areas including Hyderabad, Latifabad, Qasimabad and Tando Jam.

Hesco officials say restoration work is underway, and WASA officials say most of the city's pumping stations are without electricity.

Many low-lying areas of Hyderabad have been inundated. Rain water has accumulated in the district secretariat. Apart from this, rain water has also accumulated on Thandi Road, Guddu Chowk and Pahli Chowk.


Heavy rains in Badin district since 3 pm yesterday have left Jal Thal in a state of disarray.

The heavy rains that started last afternoon in all areas of Badin district continued unabated throughout the night and the rains are still continuing.

More than 2.1 million people of the district had to stay awake at night in the dark. Due to rains, low lying areas in rural and urban areas were inundated.

Heavy rains also lashed Dagri, flooding all roads, including major roads connecting Dagri with other districts.

Heavy rains in Mirpur Khas, Tando Muhammad Khan and Sujawal city caused 4 to 5 feet of water to accumulate in low lying areas.

Due to power outage in Thatta for several hours, the citizens are in a state of panic.

According to the Meteorological Department, strong winds and thundershowers are expected in the federal capital Islamabad during the next 24 hours.
